Mumbai-Doha IndiGo flight cancelled after 5-hour delay, passengers stranded

IndiGo cancelled its Doha-bound flight 6E 1303 from Mumbai on Sunday after multiple delays caused by technical issues and procedural holdups. Despite several attempts to depart, the extended delays forced the airline to call off the flight, news agency ANI reported.
Passengers on a flight scheduled to depart Mumbai at 3:55 am are stranded at the airport, with around 250 to 300 people affected.
The airline’s spokesperson apologised for the cancellation, stating that customers were being provided with hotel accommodations and rebooked on flights to their final destinations.
Earlier, before cancelling the flight, the passengers were reportedly confined to the aircraft for nearly five hours after completing immigration and were not allowed to deboard. Eventually, due to technical issues with the plane, passengers were asked to disembark and wait in the airport’s holding area.
According to the media reports, the stranded passengers alleged that they were not provided with any food or water, and no airline official was willing to talk to them.
On Friday, an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Phuket was diverted to Penang, Malaysia, due to adverse weather conditions, the airline stated.
