‘Very pleased’: Griffin lands new job in rival code

Former NRL coach Anthony Griffin has landed a new job as the director of rugby for Eastwood.
Griffin most recently coached St George Illawarra before being sacked by the Dragons last year.
The 58-year-old from Queensland coached 231 first grade games for the Broncos, Panthers and Dragons with a 51 per cent winning record.

Griffin replaces former Australian men’s sevens coach John Manenti in the Eastwood role.
Manenti has taken up a new gig with the San Diego Legion after resigning from his sevens post following the Paris Olympics.
“Anthony has been working with the club for the past 12 months and we are very pleased to have someone with his experience and insight joining us as we position the club for the future,” Eastwood chairman Rob Cusack said.

Eastwood finished ninth in the Shute Shield this season with a 6-12 record.
